The Cozy Home

Sunday Stroll

August 17, 2008

As we did unfortunately not go to the pre-opening of the Solbad (we were far too late and my mum forgot to inform us to come earlier) we had a quiet evening at home watching a DVD. So no pics from the Solbad...sorry!
Today we went for a stroll up on the Böhler. It's the hill right beside our village where we live, Unterkulm. The weather was so nice. In fact, not for the sunlovers, but the air was so fresh, you could breath deeply. With the jeans jacket I felt warm and comfy.

what's at the end of the road?

walking his way home....

hmm.....he can't stop doing silly faces...

look at this lovely green.....so calming!

We really appreciate living in such a nice beautiful area. As there is a lot of tranquility to it. Especially up on the Böhler hill it is soooo quiet, you can hear an approaching car 30 seconds before actually seeing it. That is just amazing as Switzerland is not as big and almost a bit crowded with buildings and streets. We actually would like to live upon the Böhler or the other hill called Steinenberg. But.....it is all in the property of the farmers and there is no land to build on. All is agricultural area and therefore not accessible. Nevertheless, we will hold on to our dream :-)

A Glimpse at the Cozy Home

August 15, 2008

This is my cozy home workplace where I usually will blog my posts from. It is in our sleeping room. The walls are painted with pink colour. First, my sweetheart was not sure at all whether he will like the colour or not. But when he started painting the walls he grew fond of the colour within minutes. So we both were happy to have painted the walls, because we usually are "white wall" lovers. But this experiment changed both our minds.

The candle holder behind the ibook is made out of volcano stone. It is an angel holding the tea candle in front. Very sophisticated. Like it a lot. And...of course, my favourite flower: the orchid! Never can pass a gardener shop without buying one. Ouch.... can you imagine....our house is covered with orchids... :-) But still can't get enough of these plants!

Tonight we are invited to an opening of a Spa Center near Berne (Switzerland). My father created the images for the doors and e.g. the big pictures for decorating the sauna room, cleopatra bath room and and and.....in fact he designed the image landscape. It is a really big Spa. Check it out at www.solbad.ch.
I will take some pictures and show them in my next post!

Happy weekend!
Yours,
Virginia

Cozy my ibook from the inside!

Cozy my ibook!

August 14, 2008

Today I would like to show you my ibook and its new look. It is covered with an adhesive sticker (3M) from a very cool skin provider that I accidentally found in the internet: Gelaskins. Thanks for that!
This skin is created by the featured artist Colin Thompson. I adore his work. It is really putting me back in my childhood days, so colourful, so lovely. There are lots of skins whether for your ibook, ipod, phones, laptops. Check out the site. There is a skin for every taste! I promise. I also bought at the same time the Magnolia Blossom skin of Vincent Van Gogh.
As I ordered the skins from the U.S. I needed to pay the 20$ shipment fee additionally to the 2 skins. But it really was worth the money and I absolutely recommend this shop and its products. So much fun! Check it out!

Cozy my kitchen: Ice-Cream Maker

Look at this! Look at the beauty of this machine, you really feel it was created with joy and fun. It is the Cuisinart - ICE 45PK model. A very stylish, sophisticated, 50ties like looking ice cream maker. Did I say ice-cream maker? No! That is not the whole truth....it is furthermore also a yoghurt maker! That is the point where I was kind of getting speechless when reading about the product features of the machine. You can even add favorite mix-ins to your ice-cream/yoghurt by a separate dispenser that looks a bit like the coffee bean dispenser of a coffee machine.

The features of the Cuisinart - ICE 45PK
• Adds favorite mix-ins into soft serve ice cream as it’s dispensed!
• Pull out tabs to add one, two or all three types of mix-ins
• Pull down handle to dispense soft serve ice cream directly into cones or bowls
• Makes 11⁄2 quarts of frozen dessert in as little as 20 minutes
• Fully automatic – just add favorite fresh ingredients and turn the dial
• Cone holder holds a stack of pointed or flat bottom cones
• Double-insulated freezer bowl holds temperature for fast results
• No chemicals, salt or ice required
• Removable parts for easy cleaning
• Instruction Book and Recipe Book included
• Limited 3-year warranty

You might think that this machine must cost almost a fortune. Hell! No! It doesn't! It costs 100$ only. I was really impressed (I am Swiss, here such things are bloody cheap!). I mean: hey it is even easy to clean and makes favourite ice-cream within 20 minutes. Imagine....your movie night will be the best in town! You will be the hottest neighbour in town or the hottest mum ever! Especially to your child's friends ;-)

I am really thinking about buying this cute kitchen helper!
What do you think about it? Like it or not? If you do not like it in pink: also available in white
;-) So no excuses....
